Research Projects

Each grade level has been working on research projects each week in the library media center since Christmas.  We have been using The Big 6 & The Super 3 as a guide for research.

Research Topics:
Kindergarten-The Statue of Liberty
1st grade-tornadoes
2nd grade-constellations/Underground Railroad
3rd grade-Mt. Vernon (George Washington's farm)
4th grade-Trail of Tears
5th grade-Civil War battles in Arkansas

Feb/Mar Nonfiction Challenge!

February 3-March 7
1st-5th grades

Goals:
1st grade: 3 books
2nd grade: 5 books
3rd grade: 8 books
4th grade: 10 books
5th grade: 10 books

Students must make a 80% or higher on AR tests for it to count toward NF Challenge!
We are currently brainstorming reward ideas :)

Dec/Jan Nonfiction Challenge Reward Trip


We had 178 students meet their Nonfiction Challenge Goal!!!  I am so extremely proud of these students taking the initiative to read nonfiction books!  We took these students to Conway Family Bowl and we all had so much FUN!

2nd 9 Weeks AR Party!!



 Students that met their 2nd 9 weeks AR goal were treated to a party in the gym!!  
Events:
  • Toilet Paper Basketball
  • Wii Bowling
  • Baggo
  • Ping Pong Ball Races
  • Noodle Throw
  • Popcorn!!

December/January Nonfiction Challenge!

Who: 2nd-5th graders
What: Nonfiction Challenge
When: Dec. 2-Jan. 10
How: AR test scores must be 80% and up to count
2nd grade: 5 books
3rd grade: 8 books
4th grade: 10 books
5th grade: 10 books

The reward trip is a mystery!!  Watch for clues every Friday on Wake Up, Wooster!!
